John Roy Christensen

John Roy Christensen, MS, is a successful businessman, philanthropist & educator with more than four decades of experience. Through his work, he has improved the health of his clients, their communities & the world at large.

In 1980, John established himself as a dental marketing pioneer by founding chrisad, the first marketing company focused exclusively on dentistry. Chrisad is now the oldest & largest dental marketing company in the world, overseeing clients totalling $3 billion a year in annual production. Today, John’s team spans three countries & serves more than 1,500 clients. In addition, he continues to regularly travel to meet & help clients himself.


John founded chrisad shortly after graduating from Northwestern University’s prestigious Medill School with a specialized degree in marketing. Later, he would be inducted into Medill’s Hall of Achievement for his work. To this day, chrisad works with Northwestern to conduct groundbreaking research. Its patient-centric marketing has led to client growth in good times & bad even as technology & communication methods have evolved.

Throughout it all, John has kept the company independent of third parties & investors, ensuring that his clients’ welfare—& the welfare of their communities—come first.

Charitable Work

John’s work goes well beyond chrisad. Each year, he helps under-served youths work toward their dreams by providing tuition at the Medill School.

This spirit of charity also reaches across the globe. John is a cofounder—along with Shekar Swamy—of the CS Foundation. The mission of the CS foundation is to uplift impoverished, rural India by supporting trusted local nonprofit organizations in their effort to help communities create a better life. Among the nonprofit’s many achievements is the Thirumalai Mission Hospital, a full service hospital in south India.

Spreading the Word

In his travels, John has shared his expertise with tens of thousands of individuals through a broad range of lectures at dozens of dental schools as well as graduate marketing programs. He also shares his exacting knowledge at chrisad’s No Limits conferences. These conferences are geared specifically for practice owners who want a better work/life balance & a better bottom line.

John has made his pioneering work readily available through his book series, The New Rules of Dental Marketing. John is the mind behind The Bahamas Principle, a proven method for dentists to better manage & grow their practice while simultaneously doing more of what they love.

In all, John has overseen more dental practice growth than anyone in the world. His company continues to stay on the leading edge of dental marketing trends & best practices. From helping doctors open their doors for the first time to aiding established practices, John’s systems have led to some of the most dynamic progress experienced in dentistry.
